Defining a New Migrate Job

To migrate media volumes, you create a Migrate definition. A Migrate definition is a set of parameters that define key elements of the Migrate operation such as the following:

• The media to migrate or backup job instance to migrate
• The device on which to mount that media (source device)
• The media to which to migrate the source media (destination media)
• The device to which to mount the destination media (destination device)
• The scheduled time for the Migrate job to run. However, you can save and run the job immediately with no scheduling.

Following are the steps required for creating a Migrate definition:

• Begin Defining a New Migrate Job
• Determine Source Pane View
• Specifying Source Media Volumes or Source Jobs
• Specifying a Source Device
• Specifying the Destination Media Pool and Destination Device Cluster
• Defining Migrate Options
• Specifying the Schedule for the Migrate Job
