Physical Representation of a Windows Cluster
A simple cluster is illustrated below. Each of the two physical computers (Node X and Node Y) contains two local disks (C: and D: in each case). Also, the two computers share two disks (G: and H:) via a single shared connection. Though not shown in the illustration, each of the computers is instantly able to sense if the other has failed or is down.
