Restore Process

  1. When a restore begins, DPX issues a MOUNT request to ACSLS to mount one or more tapes containing the data to be restored.
  2. ACSLS finds and mounts the tape. ACSLS tells DPX that the request is complete and passes back the bar code number of the tape.
  3. DPX restores the data.
  4. When the restore job finishes, DPX unloads the tape from device and issues a DISMOUNT request to ACSLS.
  5. ACSLS retrieves and stores the tape.
  6. ACSLS keeps track of the tape’s location.
