Conventions

The following conventions are used in this chapter and elsewhere in this manual:

  • Italics represent variables.
  • Brackets [ ] represent optional items. These are not actually typed as part of a command.
  • Braces represent a logical grouping of items. These are not actually typed as part of a command.
  • An ellipsis … indicates that the preceding item may be repeated.
  • Vertically separated items inside brackets represent a choice among those items.
