SAP Interface Installation
The DPX SAP interface is easily installed via an interactive installation procedure.

On UNIX:
To start the installation procedure under UNIX, run
bexsapin. The bexsapin installation procedure is located in the misc subdirectory of the directory in which DPX is installed. The UNIX installation procedure is designed to be run multiple times. You need to run the procedure for each node that has an SAP database. -
On Windows:
To run the installation procedure under Windows, do the following:
- Click Start > Programs > DPX > Database Configuration Utility.
- The Application Interface Configuration dialog appears.
- In the right pane, enter the master server hostname, user name, and password.
- In the left pane, select the database you are interested in setting up.
- Follow instructions provided in the right pane.
Pre-Installation Checklist
Before you begin the installation procedure, you should have the following information handy.
Checklist
- The hostname of the master server.
- Your administrator username.
- Your administrator password.
- The logical name of the SAP node on which you are installing the interface. (The name by which DPX knows the node.)
- The name of the media pool you intend to use.
- The name of the device cluster you intend to use.
- The name of the tape device you intend to use.
- The Security ID (SID) of the database being installed/configured, or the fully qualified path to the SAP
rundirectory that contains the SAP brbackup and brrestore modules. - The fully qualified path to the root directory.
- The fully qualified path to the Oracle root directory of the database being installed/configured.
