Permissions for UNIX / Linux

• root account is required for basic operations.
• Other administrative rights such as alternate UID=0 accounts, sudo, etc. are not guaranteed to work properly on all systems.
• IDS, firewall, and other security extensions such as SELinux might interfere with backup and restore operations. If so, they need to be either disabled or modified with exceptions.
