Step 6. VMware Restore Wizard: Virtual Machine Options
This page appears for both Instant and Full VM restore. The tabs contain fields populated by default with values from the source VM.
- Enter values or accept the default values. The following describes the fields under the tabs:
- Name
| Virtual Machine Name | By default the source VM name displays. You can change this. |
| Virtual Machine Memory (MB) | By default the source VM memory displays. You can change this. |
| Start VM after it is created | Select this check box if you want the restored VM to power on automatically. This option is recommended. If you do not power on the VM, a Full restore will be accomplished with cloning rather than storage relocation, resulting in unavailability of the VM until the cloning completes. |
- Resource
| Resource Pool | Select from the pull-down list a resource pool for the new VM. |
| Network | Select from the pull-down list a network for the new VM. The networks that display are those the vCenter supports for the host. |
| iSCSI Adapter | Select from the pull-down list a software or hardware iSCSI adapter. The adapters that display are those present on the host. |
| CPU Count | You can change this value. It is not recommended to change it to a value lower than the displayed source value. |
- Click Next.
