Requirements and Considerations for Exchange Backup and Restore

General Considerations​

  • It is not recommended to use a master server as an Exchange server.
  • Catalogic DPX Block Data Protection agents use Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service to back up Microsoft Exchange Server on Microsoft Windows nodes.
  • Do not install Exchange on %SystemRoot% (which is usually the C: drive). Doing so may interfere with Block restore and Instant Access.
  • Catalogic DPX Block Data Protection for Exchange is not supported for client nodes running Windows Server 2012 with ReFS enabled. See Microsoft ReFS Support.
