Prerequisites for Protecting Oracle Databases

Review the following prerequisites for the Catalogic DPX Block Data Protection to protect your Oracle Databases:

  • Auto-discovery of Oracle database instances
  • Backup of Oracle databases or tablespaces residing on drives or mount points at local machines
  • Restore of Oracle tablespaces that are in either online or offline mode
  • Restore of individual Oracle files
  • Bare Metal Recovery disaster recovery for Oracle nodes
  • Instant Access to Oracle backup instances
  • Quick restore using Instant Access mapping
  • Database cloning on an alternate node which involves recovery by way of Instant Access
  • RMAN Cataloging

Note that support for backup and recovery of Oracle Databases to a NetApp Clustered Data ONTAP target is limited.
