Navigation Trees for Resources

Use the navigation trees that appear on many function windows to select data for inclusion in a job definition or select a resource for configuration.

Note that check boxes outlined in yellow are selectable, check boxes outlined in black are not selectable. The center of the selection check box turns red, indicating that the resource has been explicitly selected for backup. Anything subordinate to it in the tree structure, referred to as a descendant, is automatically selected. The center of the selection check box of each descendant resource turns gold, indicating that it has been selected, though not explicitly. The center of the selection check box of each ancestor resource turns half red diagonally, indicating that a resource descendant to it has been explicitly selected for backup.

Tip.

On some windows, such as configuration windows, you can make multiple selections by holding [Ctrl + click] or holding [Shift + click] for a selection range.

Each checkbox changes in its visual appearance to indicate the following states:

BlackGray fillThis resource is not selectable at this level.
YellowWhite fillThis resource is selectable, but not selected.
YellowHalf red center diagonallyAt least one descendant of this selectable resource is selected. No descendants of the selections are explicitly excluded.
YellowRed fillThis resource is explicitly selected. There are no exclusions among its descendants.
BlackGold fillThis resource is included implicitly in the selection, because an ancestor was explicitly selected. A user cannot explicitly exclude it.
YellowGold fillThis resource is included implicitly in the selection. It is not excluded, but a user can explicitly exclude it.
